This was so far away I was not sure what I was taking a photo of. Only after downloading did I discover it was a Eurasian jay (Garrulus glandarius).
Also only discovered what these were the I got home. Two European goldfinches (Carduelis carduelis).
What beautiful Cranes and I love the bird on the barbed wire! You take amazing photos!
ReplyDeleteWe are lucky enough to see the cranes twice a year, we are right on their flight path. Keep well.
DeleteYour photos of the birds in flight are super. Amazing the bird can land on that barbed wire. Wonder does it get hurt?
ReplyDeleteThe birds fascinate me how they also sit on the brambles, they are really vicious!! Keep safe, Diane
DeleteExtraordinary bird photos ... all so beautiful. Love the in flight images. And your window sill visitor is to die for beautiful!! The only thing I see from my window is dust clinging to the glass.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us this weekend at IRBB!
Thanks Anni for hosting, it helps to give something to post for. Keep safe Diane.
DeleteHi Diane - great photos ... and love it that you can identify them once home, then let us know. Wonderful photos of the storks ... enjoy the walks out and stay safe - Hilary
ReplyDeleteHi Hilary is seems daft to take photos of something I do not know what I am taking, but sometimes it pays off! Keep well Diane
DeleteSo many great shots!!! Really love the birds in flight photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam the cranes in flight are always good to seem. Keep safe Diane
DeleteIt must be very exciting to wait for the cranes in spring and autumn. Visible migration isn't so obvious with smaller birds.
ReplyDeleteI wonder when you photographed the Whinchat? I thought they were all in Africa by now. They are pretty scarce up here in recent years.
Enjoy the weekend Diane. It's a good thing that the shortest day is close. Our days are 8 until 4 just now.
Hi Phil, Whinchat was taken 24 November. Answering this a bit late, I seem to keep running out of time. Everything seems late. I saw cranes flying over today out walking, 17 December, I have never seen them this late.
DeleteKeep safe and take care Diane
What amazing photos, I can't even choose which one I like best.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Many thanks Maria, comment is appreciated. Keep safe, Diane
DeleteOh, my favourites on the first one☺☺
ReplyDeleteI love the little Blue tits that are the friendliest of all the birds in the garden. Stay safe Diane.
DeleteYou've captured a sense of freedom with those birds in full flight.
ReplyDeleteI think we all need some freedom at the moment!!!!!! Keep safe Diane
