The Little Owl has been around all winter but I have not seen it close enough to take photos, or it has moved too quickly for me. I hear them though, most days/nights.
The other day while digging in the garden I heard it quite close and looked up to see it on the neighbour's barn. I raced inside to get my camera and it was still there on my return.
Little Owl (Athene noctua).
Not really interested in me...
Checking me out now, but look at what is under the roof next to the beam...
Suddenly being in total lockdown has become a whole lot more interesting.

DeleteHi Diane. At this time of year that owl must be on territory and probably nesting on your neighbours property. In my experience, they can enter into the tiniest cavities to do so. The darker and quieter the better for them. I predict, soon you will hear the pitter, patter of tiny owls on rooftops.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Phil. I am hoping that I can bring a whole story to you as the year progresses. I am just over the moon that I am seeing them every day. I hope we hear the pitter, patter.... Stay safe, Diane
DeleteWhat a splendid little bird - I think an owl in the garden would be a wonderful thing.

Bonjour Nathalie,
DeleteIl neige aussi ici aujourd'hui, très étrange. Je regarde les chouettes tous les jours. Très excitant. J'espère pour les bébés.
