European robin (Erithacus rubecula)...
As above, generally, we do not see the robin from the end of March until winter starts when it returns, this may well be the last photos of it for some time...
As above.
Great tit (Parus major).
Common Wood Pigeon (Columba palumbus) and Eurasian magpie (Pica pica). Thankfully I seldom see the magpies, but over the last few days, they have made their presence known đ...
As above with some House sparrows (Passer domesticus).
House sparrow female....
House sparrow male.
Eurasian blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus); I am sure it is trying hard to have a conversation with a very silent stone boy...
As above...
As above.
Common chaffinch, male (Fringilla coelebs). Someone should tell him not to try and speak with his mouth full!!
Of course, no blog with birds at home would not be complete without a sighting of the Little owl (Athene noctua).

We have the same lockdown now.
ReplyDeleteYou have such wonderful creatures around your garden.
Thanks Marie we are lucky to live in the country and have a reasonable size garden. Hope all is well Diane
DeleteBonsoir Diane.
Bises Diane
Hi Diane - I wonder if you'll see the robin around more often, now there's less traffic etc Love the little souls you've shown us ... love them all, but am distinctly unhappy about the magpies - sadly: thugs at large ... and they make a noise!! Take care and all the best - Hilary
ReplyDeleteHilary I doubt if we will see more, it is around all winter, and every year since we have been here, come the breeding season it vanishes. Yes I don't like the magpies, I hope that they might move on but think they may have settled at this time of the year!! All the very best to you and stay safe Diane
DeleteThat magpie is striking! Such gorgeous garden birds!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this. We birders at I'd Rather B Birdin appreciate your blog post & photos!
Anni I agree the magpie is striking but I prefer not to have them nearby. They attack other birds nests and eat eggs and chicks :-( They are also pretty quarrelsome!
DeleteIt is a pleasure to join you. Take care Diane
I didn't realize those nappies are vicious and conniving!
DeleteHave a blessed Easter my friend. Thanks for sharing your birds & wildlife with us at I'd Rather B Birdin.
We are no on day 19 of lockdown over here. It has been wonderful. I live in the city centre and the most wildlife we see is usually pigeons. Nature has returned though and we now had all sorts of birds and creatures. I am so grateful. The Yum List
ReplyDeleteMonica I am thrilled for you that you are seeing more wildlife. First time ever I saw a deer in the wood at the back of our property yesterday. I am sure it is the fact that everything is so quiet. Stay safe Diane
DeleteThats a nice set of garden birds - mine are much more thin on the ground!
ReplyDeleteHope you are well - Stewart M - Melbourne
Thank you Stewart, we are lucky to have reasonable size garden, plenty of birds (mostly sparrows!) and generally lots of bugs in the warmer weather. Stay safe, cheers Diane
DeleteThey are all so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam and for the comment. Diane
DeleteRobins are so cute, love them!
ReplyDeleteThanks you Natalia, I also love the robins. Keep well, Diane
DeleteSpring is almost here too. No sign or sound of Cuckoo yet and certainly no Hoopoe but we live in hope. if only I could get out birding! A freezer has become an essential part of life here so that we go shopping once a fortnight unless to the corner shop a quarter mile away that has suddenly become popular. Luckily we have a small stock of wine and a bottle of Greek ouzo to keep us going.
ReplyDeleteStay well and safe Diane.
Your garden birds are very similar to those in my garden here in the North West of England.
ReplyDeleteThanks Adam for the visit and the comment, appreciated. Diane
