They were all quite far so not the best photos.
We are only allowed out for 1 hour a day and we can go no further than 1 km radius from home. We also have to carry a dated and timed certificate with us. Fines are heavy if caught cheating!
Luckily for me, we have farmland all around us and I can walk without seeing anyone most of the time.

Great Egret or Great White Egret, (Ardea alba) - I could barely see these birds with the naked eye...

They then decided to go even further afield...

I’ve never seen a park or an egret. Great photos, Diane.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen (well not identified) larks before either. Keep safe Diane
DeleteHi Diane - love the Woodlark, as too the Robin and then the Egrets ... must be lovely just to walk quietly around your area ... stay safe - Hilary
ReplyDeleteWe are lucky that we can get out at all i guess but I struggle with the 1 hour only. You keep safe also,
DeleteYou have Woodlarks nearby? That must be wonderful in the spring and summer - it's many years since I saw and heard a Woodlark as they do not occur here in Lancashire. In UK it's a species of the south and south east - as they say, "south of Watford". I think our lockdowns will end for January otherwise people will do it for themselves as everyone is getting rebellious.
ReplyDeleteI was delighted to get the photos of the Woodlarks. I have probably seen them before, but my older lens would never have picked up what they were. I am now taking photos of birds that are almost invisible to the naked eye but I can identify when I down load. Makes life more interesting!!! Keep safe, Diane
DeleteExcellent stills (photos). I've not heard of a wood lark (new species to me). Stay safe & healthy during this next phase of lockdown. I enjoyed my visit here, and give thanks to you for sharing this week at IRBB.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Anni and for the comment. Woodlark is also new to me! You also stay safe. Diane
DeleteThe European robin is so pretty! Glad you were able to get out and go for a walk, hope your lockdown ends very soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Jean and thanks for the comment. Yes the European Robin is the emblem I always think belongs on Christmas cards!
DeleteThanks for the visit and stay safe, Diane
Thats a nice place to be able to take an hours walk - we had similar restrictions not that long ago, but I only saw parked cars and the occasional cat! But it seems to have been for the best - we are more or less free of restrictions now.
ReplyDeleteHope all is well - Stewart M - Melbourne
We are lucky that we live in the country and that a 1 km radius from home is in in farmland!
DeleteHope all is well, take care Diane
Robins are really really cute☺
ReplyDeleteI love the robins and I see quite a lot out walking. Take care and keep well Diane
DeleteLovely photos, Diane. I'd love to see a Woodlark - not seen one for years, and a Great Egret would help break the monotony at the moment (not hard to find but currently out of bounds!). Best wishes - - - Richard
ReplyDeleteHi Richard this is the first time I have knowingly seen a Woodlark and and a couple more new ones for me this week :-) Hope all is well Diane
