Thanks Anni, I love to see the Cranes returning North, a good sign always, I just hate it when I see them flying South for winter!!! Keep well Diane
DeleteInteresting that the Robin is only a winter visitor - would have thought they would have been there all year. Nice set of pictures.

There are robins around in summer but they never come to our garden. They can find food easily in summer and obviously they have better nesting places. Hope all is well, Cheers Diane
DeleteYour robin obviously likes a more wild varied diet for a few months of the year … the Uniped, Eurasian Blue Tit, is wonderful to see – looks quite healthy too – no doubt sustained by your offerings. Common chaffinch – Common crane – birds are moving around or staying – whichever suits them. Wonderful to see – thank you … very Spring like … enjoy your garden bursting forth … Hilary
ReplyDeleteI think you are right Hilary, in winter when it is hard to find worms the robin decides seeds are OK, come summer it just disappears. I have been watching the bluetit all winter and it seems to cope just fine with one leg, but they also seem to nest elsewhere in summer and they vanish from the garden. I have tried nesting boxes but to no avail. I wonder if it will be back next year. Take care Diane
DeleteThat blue tit is just a ball of fluff!
ReplyDeleteIt is a darling and so cute. Keep well Diane
DeleteThe Blue tit is an often overlooked bird here in the UK. Common doesn't detract from its beauty. They have a lovely charm to them.
ReplyDeleteI love them and they are the friendliest of all the birds that come to the garden. Thanks for the visit and the comment. Diane
DeleteThe Eurasian blue tit is adorable.
ReplyDeleteJust so cute and friendly to a certain degree. Keep well Diane
DeleteIt's quite amazing how many one legged birds seem able to survive for a while. On the other hand, most creatures including ourselves can manage, albeit with some help. I would expect Robins to be not far away from your garden in the summer, perhaps your neighbours have more desirable nesting spots for Robins. Enjoy your weekend Diane.
ReplyDeletePhil so many fields around us with hedges, ideal for breeding for the robin and quiet other than a few cattle or sheep walking around. Food is better in summer so why visit us? Keep well Diane
DeleteI love the close ups of blue tit - his feathers look incredibly soft and fluffy, very very cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Natalia, I love this little bird and it seems to cope so well. Hope all is well diane
DeleteOh he really has his feathers ruffled.
ReplyDeleteIt has been windy here now for weeks....... Cheers Diane
