We did not have many cherries this year, but what we did have, many were knocked to the ground in the high winds. The birds thought they had a special treat!

You managed to be out and about at last Diane. Those are really nice photos of both the pecker and the Grey Wagtail. Our cherries aren't ripe yet but when they are we don't get a look in because of the Blackbirds. Cherry 🍒 pie would be nice.
ReplyDeleteHi Phil, not really out and about at La Rochefoucauld, it is where the supermarket is that we do our shopping. We did though go to lunch at the outside restaurant there, 15 months since we have had a meal out!! We generally have so many cherries that the birds do not make much impression on them but the last two years the rain has caused them all to split. Take care and keep safe, Diane
DeleteOnce again, perfection!! Exceptional birds Diane. That Spotted Woodpecker is marked so beautifully!! Awesome images.
ReplyDeleteThank you kindly, for sharing them with us at IRBB this week. Have a super week ahead & happy birding.
Thanks Anni for the kind comment and thank you for hosting. It is a pleasure to share but at this time of the year I do not see a lot, winter is much easier though it is then the usual garden birds!!
DeleteKeep well, Diane
Love those geese. All I ever see are Canada Geese.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure Marie what these geese are, they look a bit like farm geese but I might be wrong! Not sure what they were doing on the river, maybe escapees!! Best wishes Diane
DeleteHi Diane - delightful shots ... the blackbird is obviously very happy ... I must get some cherries now they're available here ... the spotted woodpecker is wonderful to see ... as too the others. We're in a rainy-foggy patch ... but it's summer in England! Enjoy the garden - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteWe have had a couple of dry days but the rain has now returned again! The garden is actually not doing well, just too much rain, but next we will be complaining it is too dry!!! At least the birds are still around😊
DeleteKeep safe Diane
I would have loved to join the birds in cherry eating. Very lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteThere were very few cherries this year the weather was not suited to them sadly. We eat a few direct from the tree but there were not enough to pick to make anything with. Thanks for the comment. Keep safe Diane
DeleteGorgeous creatures! They sure look happy with your fallen cherries :)
ReplyDeleteYour link this week at 'My Corner of the World' is appreciated!
Thanks Betty, very happy birds!!! Thanks for hosting, take care Diane
