DeleteThe birds here in NZ are a bit boring compared to the ones you find :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your link at My Corner of the World this week!
You have some pretty birds as well and you have the Kiwi :-) Keep well Diane
DeleteHello Diane. The Bokmakierie is a very striking and colourful bird indeed. So is the Cape Longclaw, both species I have never seen. The way the Bokmakierie is posing suggests it has a very loud and distinctive song too, one that would carry across the landscape?
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can catch up with your own pictures soon but I do like to see these birds new to me, even if I can't see them for real.
It is an interesting bird and although I seldom ever saw one, I heard them quite often and especially two of them calling to each other. Its most common call is “bok-bok-mak-kik”, the origin of its common name.
DeleteI hope all is well, Diane
