A few birds seen in the garden this past week.

I have had little time for photography, too much to do in the garden and house with a huge harvest of fruit and vegetables.  Now trying to catch up a bit.

House sparrow (Passer domesticus)...

As above plus a male in 'jump' mode.

As above.

As above female.

Eurasian collared dove (Streptopelia decaocto).

  3. Hi Diane - congratulations on all your gardening and then subsequent harvesting and storing all your organic produce - excellent to read about - though can see the time it's taking. Lovely photos of the little birds around the garden ... take care and enjoy the days ahead - Hilary

  6. Pretty birds! Especially enjoyed the black redstart images. Our sparrows tend to come in large groups and empty my feeders a lot sooner than many of my other birds. Hope you are having a nice weekend.

  8. Hi Diane. Those are super images of your Black Redstart. If i was to tell you my list of birds from Skiathos this year you would be amazed. The weather was so superb that nothing much dropped onto the island. Best was flocks of Bee Eaters flyovers on Day One following the end of a thunderous day. After that, sun, sun, sun.

    1. I would love to go to Skiathos, but out next holiday, if it ever happens, is to do this years cancelled holiday of a month touring Italy. At this stage I wonder if we will ever have another holiday, we are not getting any younger and how much longer will we be able to travel far and wide. COVID could go on for a long time yet!!!
Keep well and stay safe Diane

    1. They are!!!! The insect eaters though mostly have to do their own meals :-) Hard to find dried food for them here in France and too expensive to import it all the time from the UK. Keep well Diane
