27/06/2021 Still trying to catch up!!

We did not have many cherries this year, but what we did have, many were knocked to the ground in the high winds.  The birds thought they had a special treat!

Travelling a bit further afield to La Rochefoucauld and the Tardore river, we saw this Grey Wagtail (Motacilla cinerea).

19/09/2020 Delighted to see the Little Owl last evening.

 We were both in our barn when I said to Nigel listen, the Little Owls are calling to each other.  Nigel commented that one was right overhead, and sure enough there it was, one on our barn roof once again after what seems like months to me without seeing them but hearing them from time to time,

Birds in our French garden this week. Too wet to go out much.

Eurasian or common blackbird (Turdus merula) in hiding

Moving a little closer.

I have only seen one this year, there used to be dozens around!

Very little time for photos since returning to France, but here are a few from February in the garden.

Despite clean water being put out for them daily the sparrows still go to the pot plants for a drink!!

Christmas greetings cannot go without a robin so this is to also wish you all a Happy Christmas and a fabulous New Year.  Happy birding in 2019.

I am off to the UK on Monday until the end of January.  As I will be, with my husband, full time caring for my FIL who has Alzheimers, I have no idea if I will have to time to blog before my return to France in February 2019.  I will try to look in on your blogs if possible.
