    1. Penny, Christelle has a very small hand held canon that has a great zoom on it and it was not expensive. She has taken some amazing photos. keep well Diane

  3. That is an exceptional Crake series!! Gorgeous, colorful shrike. I wish I could lay down like that with my camera...I'd never be able to get up!!

  4. I find it difficult to equate South Africa with winter. My concept of winter is tarnished with snow of course.

  6. Two very good looking but quite different species there Diane. I'm a sucker for shrikes but hardly ever see crakes unless you count Moorhens. I hope your friends are staying safe with all the bad news coming out of South Africa.

    1. It is a stunning place and I love the the country and the wild life there. Not a good place to be at present though with the unrest and the COVID. We will return though as soon as it is possible. Cheers Diane

  8. Good to heart that at least some of your friends are safe Diane. I hope you will be able to return to South Africa soon but you must be careful with your timing and keep your ear to the ground.
