I did not expect to have time to take photos or blog while I was here in the UK and this is a little unplanned. I walked along the towpath of the canal this morning while heading to the shops and this starling just posed so beautifully for me.
Common starling (Sturnus vulgaris),
This murmuration of starlings was taken just down the road from the above photos on Christmas Day last year.
Eurasian blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) was nearby...
as was this European goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis).

Beautiful photos Diane, especially those you got of the starling. I'm glad you were able to enjoy some birding on your way to shop.
ReplyDeleteThanks Penny, it is not often a bird is so cooperative as this starling was for me 😊 Hope all is well in your part of the world, take care Diane

DeleteI so pleased that you are managing to find time to take photos of the birds, and other subjects too, Diane. Isn't Starling plumage fabulous at this time of year! Take good care, keep healthy and, most importantly of all, keep your chin up!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful 2019, even though the start is difficult - - - - Richard
I manage to get out for about an hour usually after lunch and go for a walk. There are several birds around the canal and also on the pond on the village green. Not a wide choice, but some birds and an hour alone are good. Thanks for the comment, as always appreciated. Take care Diane
