Week 4 in the UK.

Photos were hard to come by this week. My FIL has not been at all well and nursing was a priority, he is at the moment in hospital but should be home tomorrow. I picked up a nasty bug that laid me very low for 36 hours. Feeling much better now but still feel a bit like a well wrung out damp cloth!  (The bug returned)!

Canada goose (Branta canadensis).

Canada goose and Mallard ducks (Anas platyrhynchos).

Mute swan (Cygnus olor).

As above.

Canada Goose.

  4. I wonder why it's called a mute swan? Does it not make a sound?

    1. They make make a variety of grunting, hoarse whistling, and snorting noises, and I have also discovered that if you get to close the can hiss quite loudly!! Cheers Diane.

  5. . best wishes for your father in law’s improving health ... and to you two as well. (Don’t forget to Take care of the caregivers too.). Your bird pictures are always wonderful, whether you’ve gone far afield or just around the block.

    1. Thanks Sallie, we have been caring for him 24/7 since we arrived and before that was my SIL who will return to take over from us when we leave. It is not easy.
Glad that you like the photos despite me not having time to get out much. Cheers Diane

  6. So sorry to hear about your father in law. Hope he is getting better! There's so much in life that takes precedence, of course, and I know we are always grateful for the times when we can breathe a bit and enjoy God's beauty around us. Lovely shots!
