I was sad when we left Africa as I thought I would not see them any more, but I was delighted when we moved to France and they appeared here in our garden. Have a good day Diane
You must really look forward to hearing those birds come back in spring. I'll soon be watching their antics in Menorca where they nest each year in the same roadside cavity that's very handy for photographs.
I am not sure where they nest next to us, as with the Little Owl there are so many barns in odd places here in private property it is not simple to find out. Luckily for us, they often come to our lawn for food, especially when we have had rain and the lawn is easy to dig! Keep well Diane
Thanks for the comment. Although I have known them most of my life having lived in Africa, I still find them unusual and interesting in every way. It is a pleasure to share. Have a good day Diane
How amazingly fabulous it must be to see these birds so close, and on a regular basis, Diane - I am extremely jealous! They are somewhat rare in UK. Great photos!
Thanks Richard, I do love the Hoopoes and we are lucky that they nest nearby and often visit our garden for food. They have been part of my life for ever and I still get excited when I see them. Take care and thanks for the comment. Diane
