Common or Eurasian Blackbird male (Turdus merula).
Common chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs).
Eurasian collared dove (Streptopelia decaocto).
House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) male.
As above.
Common blackbird and male House sparrow. Interesting the size difference.
Another family affair, House Sparrows.
I will be away next week and out of WiFi contact. I hope to return with some good photos but who knows. We are returning to a spot we know, but I found last year that I did well with insects but not with birds!!

The bath house for sparrows is priceless.
ReplyDeleteI do love watching the birds in the 'birdbath' it is always a busy place as the weather warms up 😊 Have a good Sunday, Diane
DeleteLove seeing the bird bath! Hope you have a wonderful trip and see lots of interesting things!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, it looks like the weather is changing and we might not have very good weather for photography. Fingers crossed though. Keep well Diane
DeleteThose Sparrows look like they're having a lovely time in there.
ReplyDeleteThanks Adam, I love watching the birds in the 'birdbath' as the weather warms up they use it more and more, you may see many photos during the course of the next few months. Thank you for the comment, have a good day, Diane
DeleteI really like the "comparison" companions! And, the colors of the chaffinch!! That collared dove ... they're so pretty.
ReplyDeleteAs always, thanks for taking time to add your link with us at I'd Rather B Birdin', and enjoy your week ahead. Good birding!
Thanks Anni and thank you for hosting "I'd rather B Birding" Take care, Diane
ReplyDeleteWonderful series of shots - I have plans to see if I can find some tree sparrows on the weekend - maybe I should put out a bath, as their House cousins seem to like one!
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
I like your collection of birds photos and the last one is so cute. I hope your appointments go well. See you when you return. Safe travels.
ReplyDeleteMaybe not a lot of photos, but each one is perfect (and I’d be delighted to have seen and taken even one of them). The size comparison really is interesting. It gets confusing when we all often use zoom lens for our pics, makes great portraits but sometimes ha d to tell how big a bird actually is. Have a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteLove every shot Diane, but the last shot is an absolute delight 💛
ReplyDeleteStunning header birds!
ReplyDeleteYou got some lovely photos. I especially like the last one.
ReplyDeleteLovely bird images! It's fun to capture them doing fun things!
