Not a good week for birding for me, so a few more photos from Christelle and South Africa

Black_collard Barbet (Lybius torquatus).

Grey-headed bushshrike (Malaconotus blanchoti).

Kelp gull (Larus dominicanus), also known as the Dominican gull.

As above.

Thanks go again to Christelle for allowing me to use her photos.

  1. I'll bet those exotic birds in the sun warmed you up Diane? All of our birds seem so mudane after such wonders. Hope the sun shines for you. It has here. We sat out for three evenings having a meal - most unusual.

    1. Very hot here but we love it. We both cope far better with 'too hot' than 'too cold'. I hope at the end of the year I will be taking my own photos of South African birds so it will make a good change from the normal back yard birds that I generally see. Have a good weekend Diane

    1. The African birds are what I grew up with so I actually know them better than I know our birds here in France. Have a good day Diane

  7. We get Kelp Gulls in Australia - they are the least common of our 3 resident gull species.
